Create your account
There's no sign-up form. Sign in with your email or Google and Mokanata creates your account, then you set up an authenticator app and a passkey.
Your Mokanata account is what you sign in with. There's no separate sign-up form and no password: the first time you sign in with an email address or a Google account Mokanata doesn't know, it creates the account for you. You then secure it with an authenticator app and a passkey, and set up a workspace for your team, where your channels, contacts and agents live.
- Who can use it: Anyone. If your team already uses Mokanata, ask a teammate for an invite instead: an invite adds you to their workspace (see Accept an invite).
- Before you start: An email inbox you can open right now (or a Google account), your phone with an authenticator app such as 1Password, Authy or Google Authenticator, and a device that can save a passkey (a phone, a laptop with a fingerprint reader or a password manager, or a security key).
Sign in for the first time
Open the log-in page
Go to app.mokanata.com/login, or click Start free on mokanata.com. Old links to app.mokanata.com/signup open the same page.
Choose Google or your email
- Continue with Google: pick your Google account. Mokanata receives your name and your verified email address from Google, never your Google password.
- Email: type your work email and ask for a sign-in link. Open the email from Mokanata on the device you're signing up on and click the link. Links work once and expire after 15 minutes.
Either way, if no account uses that address yet, Mokanata creates one. If an account already uses it, you're signed in to that account instead of getting a new one.
Set up your authenticator app
Before you can use Mokanata, it asks you to add it to an authenticator app. Scan the QR code with the app, or copy the setup key into it, then type the 6-digit code the app shows.
Mokanata then shows your recovery codes. Each one lets you sign in once if you lose your phone, and you won't see them again: copy them into your password manager or download them, then confirm you've saved them.
Add a passkey
Next, add at least one passkey: your device asks for your fingerprint, face or screen lock, and saves the passkey (in iCloud Keychain, Google Password Manager, your password manager or a security key). With a passkey you can sign in later in one step, without a link or a code.
You can add more passkeys, for your other devices, later in Settings → Security.
Set up your workspace
With both in place, Mokanata opens setup on its first step, Create your workspace. Carry on with Set up your workspace.
Both are required
Every account needs an authenticator app and at least one passkey. Until both are set up, Mokanata keeps you on the security setup, whichever way you signed in. If you leave halfway, the next sign-in picks up where you stopped.
Choose a plan
If you came from a plan on the pricing page or from a teammate's referral link, the plan and any referral credit apply to the first workspace you create. You can change plan at any time in Billing. If you're already signed in and open a plan link from mokanata.com, it opens Change plan in Billing for your current workspace instead.
Troubleshooting
Then signing in opens that account: there's nothing to create. If you used to sign in with a password, use a sign-in link or Google instead; Mokanata no longer uses passwords. See Log in.
Check your spam folder and that you typed the address right. Mokanata sends at most one email every 30 seconds and five an hour to the same address. See Sign-in and link problems.
Use another device that can (most phones can), or a password manager that stores passkeys, or a hardware security key. You can add the passkeys for your other devices once you're in.
